ROASTING 2IC   – MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

      Product Development

      • Refinement and development of all coffees within PMC
      • Correspondence with Green Buyer to ensure alignment with origin story and buying ethos 

      Management 

      • Management of all maintenance schedules in the absence of head roaster
      • Workflow optimization in all areas in the absence of head roaster
      • Correspondence with Sales Team to close customer feedback loop  
      • Oversee a small, highly functioning, team in the absence of head roaster 

      Production 

      • Daily setup and fulfilment of production schedules
      • Inventory management and coordination with green department
      • Management of reserve stock and par levels 

      Quality Control 

      • QC operations in coordination with PMC AU Roastery standards
      • Logging of all daily cupping QC and analysis
      • Preventive solution to any conflicts relating to coffees 

      EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE  

      • Minimum 2 years roasting experience
      • Previous management experience preferred 

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

      • Well-developed computer literacy skills within a Microsoft Office environment and able to learn new systems quickly including Teams, 7shifts, and Cropster
      • Communication and interpersonal skills with an engaging, understanding and motivated training style
      • Competent conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
        Excellent understanding of cuppings, roast profiling, and basic coffee standards
      • Lead by example in building healthy culture & a positive work environment
      • Physically capable of meeting the demands of working in a factory: ie lifting
