About: Nestled in the picturesque Githega region of Kangema, Kenya, lies the Miroroma washing station, where coffee cultivation is an art practiced by a cooperative of 1000 dedicated farmers. This is a place where coffee beans are nurtured to perfection, and the result is nothing short of exceptional. At an altitude ranging from 1800 to 1900 meters above sea level, these coffee plants thrive in the rich, deep-red soil that imparts the beans with a unique character. But the true beauty of this coffee extends beyond its geographical setting. Miroroma doesn't just produce coffee; it cultivates livelihoods. Here, farmers receive advances for essential needs like school fees and farm inputs, and are provided ongoing agronomical support. This is our first year purchasing from Miroroma, a decision guided by our taste buds. During a blind tasting, this coffee emerged as the clear favorite, thanks to its unmistakable blackcurrant notes, dazzling acidity that dances on the palate, and a delightful syrupy mouthfeel.
