About: Nestled in the charming village of Morales, within Jalapa's Mataquescuintla municipality, lies the extraordinary El Morito coffee farm. Founded in 1994 by Roberto Monterroso, El Morito's uniqueness stems from its blend of climate, altitude, and size. Spread across 672 hectares, it ranges from 1,400 to a towering 2,650 meters above sea level. This diversity enables them to produce a wide spectrum of coffees, from sweet and balanced at lower altitudes to bright, complex, and delicate at higher ones. What makes El Morito truly enchanting is its 523.4-hectare untouched forest, harbouring a captivating array of pine, cypress, and oak trees. Amid this natural canopy, coffee trees flourish, creating a harmonious ecosystem. But El Morito isn't just about coffee; it's about community. They generously support local schools, medical services, and more for their workers. Their coffee excellence is undeniable, with an impressive track record of eight Cup of Excellence placements, including a 1st place triumph in 2022. El Morito, where coffee and community thrive in perfect harmony.
